Sustainably Sourced, Future Focused
Tin is a crucial metal for a decarbonised and electrified future, essential in the production of solder, which plays a key role in fabricating the semiconductors, electric vehicles, and renewable technologies that are fuelling this global transformation. As these industries continue to grow, demand for tin is projected to significantly increase.
Meeting this demand requires companies, like First Tin, that are committed to supplying conflict-free tin through sustainable, professional and responsible mining practices. As the impacts of climate change are increasingly felt around the world, First Tin is dedicated to achieving zero carbon emissions, in line with the goals set by the 2015 Paris Agreement, the more recent COP28 resolutions, and the commitments of our stakeholders.
The Company applies stringent environmental controls and procedures throughout all stages of development, and complies with the requirements of all applicable legislation, regulation and rules, to minimise and mitigate our impact on the land, water, air quality, climate and local biodiversity. Our goal is to minimise our impact and leave a positive legacy.

First Tin is a qualified candidate for European Raw Material Alliance (ERMA) funding and support. ERMA has identified tin from conflict-free sources as a critical raw material to support the EU’s intention of becoming climate-neutral by 2050.
Australia and Germany where our projects are located are well established mining jurisdictions with well-developed governance systems in place to support commitment to the environment, health and communities.
First Tin’s planning incorporates several aspects that show ESG considerations with regards to mining activities, including concurrent rehabilitation of mining workings on mining tenements, use of renewable energy, and use of waste rock as filling material for underground sites (Germany) or as dry stacking / aggregate (Australia).
Ethical and reliable tin supply for a more sustainable world
Tin is a critical metal for a future economy focused on decarbonising and electrifying. It is a vital component of semiconductors, electric vehicles, and other renewable technologies and the growth of these industries is expected to grow demand by over 25% by 2030 to over 400,000 TPA of tin.
It is therefore essential that this demand is met by companies which are committed to supplying tin responsibly. First Tin is supporting a decarbonised future and is committed to best-in-class environmental responsibility. The impacts of climate change are increasingly being felt around the world and First Tin is committed to being a zero-carbon emissions company as agreed to by nations participating in the Paris Agreement of 2015.
The Company applies stringent environmental controls and procedures to minimise and mitigate its impact on land, water, air quality, climate and biodiversity and complies with the requirements of all applicable legislation, regulation and rules. Our goal is to minimise our impact on nature and the environment and to develop compensation measures at an early stage.
First Tin is currently in the process of undertaking a third party independent ESG audit assessment with Digbee Ltd, and is a qualified candidate for European Raw Material Alliance funding and support.
We plan to implement the following measures at our projects:
- Use of renewable energy supply and electrification options wherever possible
- Surface and groundwater monitoring
- Treatment of mine, process, grey, and black water
- Exploitation of all usable mineral resources (accompanying minerals)
- Short transport routes
- Minimisation of dust and noise emissions
- Creation of offset and compensatory areas
- Implementation of approved rehabilitation plans after completion of raw materials extractions

We plan to implement the following measures at our projects:
- Surface and groundwater monitoring.
- Treatment of mine, process, grey, and black water.
- Exploitation of all usable mineral resources (accompanying minerals).
- Short transport routes.
- Minimisation of dust and noise emissions as well as the overnight space requirement (processing takes place underground).
- Creation of compensatory areas in the course of forest conversion.
After the completion of the extraction of raw materials, the final operating plan is implemented:
- Dismantling of all plants (underground and above ground)
- Adjustment of the mine water management.
- Safekeeping of accesses to the mine building according to the planned reuse.
- Gradual remodelling and restoration of the waste dump, ideally complete dismantling of the dump.
